Welcome from the Headteacher

I am delighted to be the Headteacher of this small,  inclusive, one form entry Church of England lower school in rural Bedfordshire.

We have strong links with the local village community and Parish Church, and in addition, increasingly we serve communities further afield.  We have recently celebrated Harvest at our Church with a traditional harvest loaf baked by children in our neighbouring bakery, and we also took part in the village Scarecrow Festival. Our Year 4 class have been to Henlow Academy to perform in a concert with other local schools marking Anti-bullying week. We are taking part again in the village Living Advent Calendar event, and our window is due to be lit on 4th December, so keep a look-out!

We have a strong focus on meeting the needs of every child ensures our children are at the heart of every decision we make. This focus, along with our core Christian values and a team of committed staff, governors and PTA, is what makes this school special.

Our children enjoy coming to school and feel safe. They especially enjoy the extra activities we provide, ranging from for example, singing at local care home to singing at the O2! We welcome visitors warmly, and this half term have already had a visiting Bible Exhibition; a visit from a parent to talk to our Reception children about celebrating Divali; an introductory meeting with Boris our Pet Therapy dog;  and a Street Dance Specialist.

We are delighted that  our most recent SIAMS inspection recognised Meppershall Church of England Academy as being a "Good" school.

If you would like to find out more about us and discover if our school is the best place for your child, then I hope you will find the information you are looking for here. Thank you for your patience while we are updating our website.  If you need further information in the meantime, do please get in touch by phone or email (see Contact page).

Please do take a look at our most recent NEWSLETTER and weekly CELEBRATION NEWS (click on the links above) to find out more about day to day life in the school, and the rich and varied activities we plan to ensure children have a meaningful and memorable experiences while they are here.

I am always delighted to welcome visitors to the school, so I invite you to come and see for yourself what we have to offer. Our friendly office staff  are available to make an appointment.

The staff, children and I look forward to welcoming you.
